LCD Ruggedization for Flat Panel Displays

We supply equipment for turnkey flat panel display ruggedization lines as well as contract ruggedization services. Ruggedization is the process by which a commercial flat panel display is made more robust for avionic, marine and outdoor environments or any other extreme environmental conditions.

For example, the tabs on flat panel displays can be extended so that they can be put into modules with thicker backlights. Also, various types of glass can be laminated to the LCD or flat panel display such as heater glass or glass with an anti-reflective coating. After any glass to glass lamination, it will be necessary to put the flat panel display assemblies under pressure in an autoclave. Finally, commercially available LCDs and flat panel displays can be cut down so that they fit a non standard form factor and the flat panel displays reassembled into a new module.
